Parenting as an introvert is like having an out-of-body experience. I find myself taking longer in the bathroom, walking twice as slow to check the mail, or sitting reflectively for a moment or two during the rare quiet moments when both of my boys are completely focused on devouring their lunch. Instead, spending time alone is actually part of how introverts protect and rejuvenate their psyche. It was all by design. Unlike money, we will never get this time with our kids again.
